Sebastian Copeland did cross the Simpson Desert doing the longest latitudinal crossing of this australian desert with an alluminium frame cart equipped with two fatbike wheels.
Alastair Humphreys and Leon McCarron did cross the Empty Quarter with a man hauled cart made with 8 mountain bike wheels. We recommend to see their film, it’s very well done.
Jon Muir did the first ever unassisted crossing of Australia, solo from Port Augusta to Burketown, 2500km and 128 Days. The cart was made with ATV wheels.
Robert Twigger in his book “Lost Oasis” describes some Sahara desert explorations with a 4 wheeled cart.
